Quick Overview

The sound of Spectrum is all but impossible to put in to words. It flows so naturally yet is so far of the norm that it hits a nerve inside the brain and leaves you wondering where it could be coming from.

'Feels Like I'm Slipping Away' is as perfect place to start as any - 51 minutes of brooding seething intensity, where a kind of analogue claustrophobia ebbs and flows, gradually crushing your senses with its simplistic yet haunting charms until all that's left is a sense of despair as it fades from view. The lyrics sit perfectly on top of the experimental filter sweeps as you feel yourself falling in to the murky, hazy world that is Sonic Boom's psyche.

Sonic Boom is of course one of the two guiding lights behind the Spacemen 3 phenomenon that is still regarded as a cult today. Along with Jason Pierce (who went on to form Spiritualized) they took the UK underground rock scene by storm. Later Sonic went on to form Spectrum and the experiemental group E.A.R
